Slightly Gigantic Media is led by filmmaker Andrew Johnston, who approaches filmmaking as a relational process first and a creative one second.

We try to create an environment where people don’t feel “on camera” the whole time. When things feel calm and unforced, stories tend to surface on their own. That’s usually where the most honest moments come from.

Based in North Alabama, we works alongside non-profits, faith-based organizations, and artists to tell stories rooted in real people and real places. The focus isn’t on making things feel bigger than they are, but on paying attention to what’s already there and letting it speak for itself.

We believe filmmaking is most valuable when it helps people understand one another a little better. When it builds empathy, clarity, and trust without trying to persuade or perform. That belief shapes how we approach every project, no matter the scale.

At its core, Slightly Gigantic Media exists to serve the people and missions we work with, helping them share not just what they do, but why it matters, in a way that feels true to who they are.
